It’s Spring in Florida

That means I don’t know what to wear from morning to night, day to day, or week to week. This is common for us in mid Florida since we always seem to be sitting on a high or low front. I’d just like to put away the laundry. I’ve got a few piles of pants, a few sweaters, a hoodie or two, blankets and shorts sleeveless shirts and cover ups. I wear flexible but not stylish during this time of year. I’ve learned not to bring my bathing suits out till June. If I go in the pool before then you better start worrying about global warming on a huge scale!

I’ve noticed that older plants (who’ve been around a Florida spring or two) are budding at a slower pace than the younger ones. I can just hear them giving sage advice to slow down and wait for the trees to bud before popping their flowers.

One thing I look forward to is warm and dry air. It’s such a rare occurrence, especially if you add a light breeze, I stand still and absorb the perfect spring moment until the first lightning bolt flies through the puffy clouds and pops the downpour on me. Then I run for cover. NO ONE messes with lightning in Florida.
